As you make requests to ArcWeb services, for example, by creating maps or finding addresses, ArcWeb deducts the appropriate number of credits from your account. Most requests deduct one credit from your account, but some requests (such as for generating print-quality reports) deduct more, and some are free. You are not charged for a transaction if an ArcWeb service returns an error message. For v2006.1, there is no cost for failed requests.
You also use credits if you need ArcWeb to store more than 50 MB of data.
You purchase credits, valid for one year, in blocks of 100,000. At any time, you can add additional blocks of credits to your account. When you add blocks, any existing credits automatically extend to the expiration date of your latest purchase. See Buy on the ArcWeb site for more information about purchasing credits.
View credit costs on the ArcWeb site for an overview of the maximum cost per transaction for each ArcWeb service.
View the credit calculator on the ArcWeb site for a quick overview of costs.
View the credit calculator for SOAP developers to see credit costs for making requests to specific ArcWeb Services SOAP Web Service methods using specific data sources, for example, the Report Web Service getStandardGeographyReport method with the ArcWeb:ESRI.Housing.US data source costs 500 credits. This tool assumes you are familiar with the basic functionality of each SOAP Web Service.
The ArcWeb site account pages contain detailed information about your credit usage including usage by service type and by group members. See Viewing usage for more information. SOAP developers can also access Account Info Web Service to get credit information.
ArcWeb sends the person who purchased your ArcWeb subscription warning e-mails when your account gets to 20 percent, 10 percent, and 0 percent of amount at last allocation. You can customize who is notified about a low credit level by modifying your alerts. See Setting alerts for more information.
If you run out of credits, you can no longer access ArcWeb services or parts of the ArcWeb site (for example, the Build tab). All your shared content (data files, layers, and services) become inaccessible to other users. You have 30 days to buy more credits before ArcWeb deletes your content and account information.
Users who are part of an ArcWeb group can consume credits from a group credit pool. Administrators can also assign a specific number of credits to users in the group. See Managing users and groups for more information.
ArcWeb sends the person who purchased your ArcWeb subscription warning e-mails when the group account (sum total of users plus group pool) goes below 20 percent, 10 percent, and 0 percent of amount at last activation. You can customize who is notified about a low credit level by modifying your alerts. See Setting alerts for more information.
As an ArcWeb user, you are entitled to 50 MB of space on the ArcWeb servers. Use this space to store your data files, layers, services, and icons. You can use as much space as you need, but you are charged 0.2 credits per MB over 50 per day. See Viewing storage information for details.
