Uploading symbols

You can upload an image (GIF or JPG) to represent features in your custom data. The maximum size for a symbol is 50 by 50 pixels.

To upload a symbol (marker)

  1. From the Build tab, choose Upload Marker. A dialog box appears.

  2. Click the Browse button to locate a GIF or JPG file to upload from your computer.

    NOTE
: The file extension needs to be lowercase, for example, “store.gif” is acceptable, but “store.GIF” will not upload.

  3. Click Open.

  4. Click OK.

The image file uploads and ArcWeb creates a style with the same name as the image file. You can use the Content Library (choose Browse & Edit from the Build tab) to view the new style in the library.

The new style (symbol) is now available for you to use with layers and map image services.
