Activating Wireless Location Web Service
Wireless Location Web Service
is ArcWeb's wireless offering that lets you locate your registered cellular
phones. Before you use Wireless Location, you should create and test a
sample wireless location application. See Wireless
Location notes for more information on testing. Once you have successfully
created a sample application, register with your cellular provider (Sprint
and Bell Mobility at this time) and activate your ArcWeb account for Wireless
Location access. Registration includes contacting your service provider,
agreeing to their requirements, purchasing the appropriate service if
necessary, and giving your provider any additional information they require
(such as which phones you plan to locate with ArcWeb). When you have successfully
registered, your service provider will give you the access codes you need
to activate your ArcWeb account. Activate your access on the Activate
Wireless Location page in the My Account section of the ArcWeb
site. The registration and activation steps are different for Sprint
and Bell Mobility and different depending
on your usage, so be sure to follow the section that applies to you.
You must have an active ArcWeb account before activating Wireless
Location Web Service. For more information on purchasing
ArcWeb Services, see Getting
started with ArcWeb Services.
